The Glastonbury Road Run, with its main event the "Round the Tor 10K", takes place on the Sunday prior to the early May bank holiday each year. The 10K event, one of the largest races in the county of Somerset, is a mainly rural course that undulates around the ancient and mysterious Isle of Avalon, starting and finishing within a stones throw of the alleged burial place of King Arthur within the grounds of Glastonbury Abbey.

In addition to the 10K, there are popular 5K and 3K events for the faint of heart, and a junior schools mile fun run that attracts over 200 competitors! Whilst pre-entry for the event are encouraged there are a regular 300+ who enter on the morning of the race. Entry forms for pre-entries are available from mid December.

The "Round the Tor 10K" is part of the Somerset Road Race Series. Check the LINKS section for details of the other events in this series.

Latest News - 2011 Provisional Results
First off - appologies for those of you who have been waiting for the results - my broadband modem suffered a terminal melt-down while I was enjoying the Glastonbury sunshine. I've now recovered (or at least worked out how to link my phone to my PC!!

This year's race once again produced two new course records - with Ben Tickner (Wells City harriers) finishing in 30:43, depite following the lead vehicle towards Morrison's less than 200m from the finish line (so we know he's probably good for 30:30 on this course. Amy Chalk of Bristol & West clocked an impressive 35:24, with Emma D'Alton of Westbury also getting inside the old record with 36:10.

For a provisional set of results, please CLICK HERE. The results are only "provisional" at this stage as I am aware that a number of runners switched races without permission, and I am trying to make sure everyone appears in the right set of results. If this applies to you, please get in touch.
